Who We Are

Our Mission Statement


As a people of God , we joyfully proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ,
We strengthen our love for God through Word and Sacraments.
In sharing these gifts God has given us, we serve the needs of one another,
surrounding communities and the world.
Spirit - filled -Spirit led , we invite others into the life of faith,
Nurtured in this body of believers called Bethany Lutheran Church.


We are a Lutheran Church that is confessional and liturgical and believes in scripture.
We believe in Word and Sacrament. We receive communion every week. 
Our services are on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. and at 10:30a.m.

Holy Week Schedule of Services  - You are invited to join us.

On April 1st, we will celebrate at 10 a.m. the Sunday of the Passion of Our Lord.
This historic liturgy begins in Sandberg chapel with the blessing of the Palms.
There will be a procession outside into the church.

On April 5th, Maundy Thursday will be celebrated in Sandberg Chapel at 4:00p.m.
It will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m. in the main sanctuary with a foot washing ceremony.

On April 6th we will celebrate the Good Friday Tenebrae Service in the main sanctuary of the church at 7:30 p.m.
We sit in church and the darkness surrounding us deepens as the seven candles are extinguished during the service.
At the end - a single candle-the Christ candle- remains lit.  We then hear a loud bang that echoes through the church.

On Sunday , April 8th we will celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord at 10 a.m.

We have an active Sunday School for ages Pre-school through Confirmation class. It is held during our 9:00 a.m. service weekly.
Our weekly bible study is held on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the Walter Johnson Room in the Chapel Hall.
